Welcome Fall

It has been a crazy busy summer. We have made it through and hope that 2010 will bring much peace and relaxation. The girls are doing well. They are such a joy and have helped me make it through the last few months.

Zoe is in 1st grade and doing so well. She is reading, which is so amazing. It seems like she has something new each day. She is taking soccer and loving it. Her last game is this Saturday. Zoe continues Tae Kwon Do. They had a demonstration at the downtown festival on Halloween. She did great. She gets ready to track out on Friday.

Sydney is going to a mothers morning out program Mon, Wed and Fri at the church we have been attending. Her teacher says she is one of her best kids. She is very determined. She has very little grey area it is pretty black and white for her. She often comes home and says "The boys were not listening." She is so sweet. She is doing very well with her Tae Kwon Do as well.

Riley is Riley. She is not going to be over taken by anyone. She is very very determined and gives her sisters and parents a run for their money. The older two can never get anything out of her hands. She climbs up the ladder to the bunk beds. We have had to take it down during the day. She is starting to talk more. I can't believe how time is flying.

They had a great Halloween. We went to a fall festival at the church and went to trunk or treat. Which was tons of fun. LOTS OF CANDY!!!

I am 35 Today!!!

Spring Festival at Zoe's School

They had a blast at Zoe's Spring festival at school. They had games blow up jumpies and slides. And as you can see they also had hair and face painting. It washed right out of their hair but it took forever to get if off their scalps.

Zoe had field day at school last Friday and got a medal for jogging for five minutes straight. The girl loves to run. I can't believe it but in less than 2 months Zoe will be in first grade. She is reading and her writing is getting better each day. She has wonderful teachers. They have a behavioral chart that is a bug on a flower ad if you get spoken to you have to move your bug off the flower on to the leaf and then to the floor. Zoe has never had to move her bug. She is such a good and quiet girl at school. I can't imagine where Sydney and Riley's bug will be. They are a bit more strong willed. Time will tell.

Sydney starts preschool this fall. She is so excited. I can't wait for her to start this adventure.

Riley is Off and Running

Riley started walking a few more steps last weekend and now is full speed ahead. She seems so little to be walking. She is going to give her big sisters a run for their money. Riley is into everything!!! She is getting big she is wearing 12 month clothes and can even fit in some of the 18month clothes.

She had an appointment with the allergist. We were going to do allergy testing but her eczema was so bad they could not do it. The Dr said it was one of the worst cases. He almost made it sound like she had been neglected in care I assured him we have tried every ointment, cream lotion and Zyrtec. We have seen the dermatologist the pediatrician several times regarding the eczema. So he put her on steroids and her skin looks great. We have another appointment tomorrow for testing as the steroids cleared it up but it will come right back now that she is off it. We need to find out what the poor little one is allergic to.

Our Trip to the Park

We did not feed the geese this time but I think they remembered us.

Riley loves this geese. They start to honk and she just giggles.

This is the first time they have been close to the water. Which for those that know me well, know I HATE SAND!!!!! They had too much fun digging in the sand and playing in the water. They were soaked from the waist down. A boat went past and caused a wake the girls were not paying attention and the waves came up almost to their knees. They both jumped and screamed. They just love the park so much. Every time I pick Zoe up from school she asks first if she has Tae Kwon Do. If the answer is no then she asks to go to the park.

Zoe got her first phone call from a boy!

Zoe showed me yesterday a little note in her pocket. She carefully unfolded it like it was the Constitution and there written on this little piece of notebook paper was a phone number. I asked whose it was. Zoe giggled and said "it is Benny's phone number He gave it to me" I asked if she had given Benny her phone number. She said yes with a girlish grin. How cute. Steve was not amused as much as I was. Of course with that I had to play it up.

Well this afternoon after tae kwon do we can home and I was listening to the messages and on comes this sweet little voice saying "Hi Zoe this is Benny. You gave me your phone number (he then read back our number) then he said oh yeah see you at school tomorrow" I expected that at some point I would have to worry about sharing the phone with three girls but I never imagined it would be this early.

Lots of News

First to start Grandma is back in the hospital. She was admitted today. She got the crud we have been passing around the house. Gotta love elementary school germs.

Sydney and I toured a preschool today and she is signed up to start in September. What a big girl. She is so excited she keeps asking if she is going tomorrow. It is at a Baptist church very close to the house.

We all went to Lake Wheeler Park yesterday and had a cook out, while the girls played on the playground. We fed the wild wild geese that like to charge you to get the bread. Sunday afternoon I took the girls out there to feed them and they charged us, I got a little nervous because I thought they were going to think Riley's toes were bread. So there was a couple on a bench nearby so I asked if they wanted some bread, they said yes. So we sat back and watched as they were bombarded. The woman actually jumped up and stood on the bench because they were that aggressive. When we fed them yesterday we fed them from the gazebo deck above the lake so they could not get us. There was one poor goose that had a pine cone with fishing wire wrapped around his foot. Steve went down with some bread to see if he could get close enough to remove it. But the crazy goose hissed at him. I did not know geese hissed. Steve ran away.

Riley dropped her doll and said aaahhhooohhhhh. It was soooo cute!!!! Her first word was momma then daddy now aaahooohhhh. She is growing so fast. She is not walking yet. She still in small and in charge!!!!!

Zoe's class has baby chicks. They were able to watch them hatch. Today being April fools she is trying all kinds of I fooled ya. Like mom there is a snake behind you. haa haa fooled you. Lovely!!!

The New Fashion Designer

So Zoe went into her room and came out with this adorable hat.........I knew I had not bought this hat so I asked where she got it. Zoe told me she got it from her purse. At that time I noticed she had scissors in her hands. When I asked again where she got it she again said my purse. I told her to go get the purse. She did and she had cut the outer part of her purse off and left he liner and the beaded strap. I could not believe she had created her own hat out of her purse and what ever gave her the idea to cut it off. Man do I have to watch the scissors in case she decides she wants to be a hairstylist next.

Zoe Read a BOOK

Zoe read a book all on her OWN!!! GO Zoe...Go Zoe......Shake your bootie!!! Shake you bootie!!!

Busy week!!!

We have had a busy week. Monday there was snow. The girls had fun out in the snow again. though I am glad it only happens a few times a year. We went to Tae Kwon do on Wed and Zoe stayed over for the next class so she could spar. She looks to cute in her sparring gear but she does not quite get the idea of actually kicking someone.
Sydney took her class then she played with Riley until Zoe was done. We all played outside yesterday.
My biopsy came back inconclusive so they have schedule another biopsy........Can anything go easy medically????
Aunt Mary Hope you are feeling better!!!!!!!

How big am I????

Look at me world! I can stand all on my own. Can you believe me at 8 months am standing and dancing to music all on my own. I was listening to my sisters sing on Singstar.

Riley is growing up!!!!

Riley stood all on her own tonight without holding on!!!!!! She will be walking soon then watch out world.

NC Snow

It is March, Mrs Mother Nature!!!!! What is up with the snow???? It was very pretty on my drive home, but oh my us girls from Fl are not used to driving in it! The girls love it. Sydney had so much fun. Zoe played outside with her her neighbor friend. She came in freezing. They have enjoyed playing in the snow so much this winter. Thank goodness Zoe is tracked out so she won't have to make up a snow day. Though she loves school she would probably enjoy being in school on Saturdays.

Mobile Blogging from here.

I PHONE

I can't believe I forgot to mention. I got my I phone today by FedEx. I LOVE IT!!!!! It is better than you can imagine!!!! Zoe 's playing a racing game now. I am not sure i am going to get it back. I highly recommend the refurbished phone it was $100.00 less than normal. For a mom of three only way to go!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!!

Grandma update

Grandma Joan is doing well but still in the hospital. They are thinking that she may come home Saturday. The girls are missing her very much. She does not seem to be doing much different then when she went in but I guess that should be expected.

I had my biopsy done today. That was interesting. The worst was the anticipation and the numbing of the skin after that it just felt weird. They should have the results in about a week. The Dr was great funny and seemed right on it.

We are headed off to Tae Kwon Do and then to see grandma. Zoe has the Tiger team tonight, where they learn how to use numchucks to a song. Kinda like dance for Tae Kwon Do.

Grandma Joan

Well she has made it almost a year without a visit to the hospital, but it got the best of her last night. So off we went to WakeMed and there she stays. They are giving her iv antibiotics and iv steroids and expect that she will be discharged Friday. The Dr in the emergency room seemed very surprised with her condition that she had not been to the ED more than once in year. Zoe was very upset to see Grandma go. They both got to speak with her this morning and are feeling better about her not being home. If anyone wants to get in touch with her the main line to the hospital is 919-350-2000 (goes to the operator) I have miss placed the paper that had her direct line.......Imagine That!!!!

Riley is jumping in her rain forest jumper, Zoe is doing flips and Sydney is playing with Strawberry Shortcake. Crazy morning already, and it is only 10:30.

This is too much fun

All right, so I have done the myspace and the face book but this is so much more fun. I am having a blast changing the background and the little gidget things. I am pretty sure your able to do this on my space too but I never play with it. This is great. Very relaxing and lets out your creative side. You all should try this.

The girls are asleep. Thank goodness!!! Mondays are such difficult days. After working all weekend and not getting much sleep before Steve has to go to work makes me slightly on edge. Plus also the girls seem to be able to get away with more things on the weekend so the tend to be a little testy on Mondays But it is Monday night and tomorrow is a great new day.

I go on Friday morning for a biopsy of my thyroid. They called and the nurse asked if the Dr had prescribed me a Valium...........I thought oh no do I need one what am I getting into????? But she assured me that if I don't have a needle phobia I should be good. So please wish me luck.

Night all

The Weekend

The girls had belt testing on Friday. They both did great!!! Zoe got her green belt with blue stripe and Sydney got her white belt with yellow stripe. They had so much fun. I took some pictures but ave to get them developed as we did not have the digital camera. Riley did very well with the three hours of watching the kids.

Zoe had sparring for the first time where there was contact. This little boy kicked her in the chest and her face was priceless. It was a look of " I can't believe you did that" We could not convince her to kick back. She and Riley are in the peewee class I think Zoe has outgrown it so she may need to go on to the big class. She needs to get used to kiking back.

I worked all weekend and am off now for a bit. and we are off to Tae Kwon Do this afternoon.

Let's see if I can keep this up??????

Since I am terrible at keeping in touch, I decided this might be an easy way to update everyone on the comings and goings of the Horne group. But I am also not so great at following through on things either. I have many projects that are started and not so many that are finished but there is always hope. That would be a great goal for me. Zoe and I were discussing goals today, as she has her belt testing in Tae Kwon Do today. So maybe Mom needs to look deep and get going on the goals.
Zoe is tracked out right now. I love year round school!!!!! It is great just when you are tired of getting everybody ready for school it is out.....Then when you are tired of the girls fighting non stop Zoe goes back to school. Zoe is doing great in kindergarten!!! She loves it!!! When she is given the option to come home early she always chooses to stay. In fact when we went on her field trip to the museum her friends asked their parents to go home with them. Not my Zoe she asked me if she could ride the bus and I could pick her up later. I guess I should not feel bad that she would rather be at school.

Sydney is rocking it in Tae Kwon Do. She has her first belt testing today. She is so bold!!!! And can you say feisty!!!!!! They adore her there, she just looks so cute with her come and get me attitude. I got her a little box of chocolate for valentines day. They were very cute Zoe's had Drama Queen on it and Sydney's had Funky Monkey. Big mistake because when I woke up Sydney proclaimed " Daddy took my fu****ing Monkey" Or at least that is what it sounded like. Which she has said over and over again. Making Steve crazy!!
Riley is doing great. Growing super fast. She is crawling and pulling up on everything. She has one and half little toothies in..... Speaking of Zoe and Sydney saw the dentist Tues and she said Zoe has two loose teeth.......YUCK!!!!! Back to Riley. She is still a crier and has quite a temper for a 8 month old. She does not like much green food or much fruit. Kinda like her big sister Zoe.
My mom is doing fair getting over the shingles. She is enjoying the girls and they love having her here. Steve's Mom is doing better. She is in a nursing home and doing fairly when following her stroke.
Well, I guess that is a good start let me figure the rest out and post some pictures of my babes.
